There once was an ant, called Adam
Who ran and ran and ran
He swam a lake
Fought a snake

B – Bertie the bee
There once was a bee, called Bertie
Who collected honey when thirsty
From flower to flower
Hour upon hour
Oh, busy, buzzing Bertie! |
C – Cleo the cow
There once was a cow, called Cleo
Who didn’t moo, but meow
She croaked like a frog
Barked like a dog
Meow, croak, croak, bow wow! |
D – Don the dog
There once was a dog, called Don
Who loved to sing a merry song
Under the moon,
He’d sing out of tune
Loudly, all night long. |
E – Eddy the elephant
There once was an elephant, called Eddy.
Whose favourite friend, was his teddy.
They’d sit side by side,
Sit on his back for a ride
The two friends were strong and steady. |
F – Flo the fox
There once was a fox, called Flo
Whose tail would grow and grow
It grew so long
So very strong
She could ski, down hill in the snow. |
G – goat and giraffe
There once was a goat and giraffe
Who were always good for laugh
They’d smile and grin
From ear to chin
Whilst splashing around in the bath |
H – Harry the horse
There once was a horse called harry
Who one day planned to marry,
A beautiful mare
With long flowing hair
To the sound of the bells in the valley |
I – Imp the insect
There once was an insect called Imp
Who crawled wled up from the toilet sink
To his horror and dismay
Was flushed away
By dirty water – poo! What a stink! |
J – John the jelly fish
There once was a jelly fish called John
Who lived in the sea all alone
When a shark, one day
Happened to passed his way
He, shaking hid under a stone. |
K – Kelly the kangaroo
There once was a kangaroo called Kelly
Who did nothing else, but watch Telly
Her eyes went square
But she didn’t care
Cause she carried round glasses in her belly |
L – Lady the lion
There once was a lion called Lady
Whilst resting under a tree
Saw a mouse scurry by
Which just caught her eye
Can you guess what she ate for her tea? |
M – Mickey the mouse
There once was a mouse called Mickey
Who loved eating blue cheese for tea
With pizza and jam
Burgers and ham
Washed down with cake and coffee. |
N – Nancy the nightingale
There once was a nightingale called Nancy
Would sing whatever she fancy
She sang through the night
With the moon so bright
Perched high up in her nest a tree. |
O – owl – otter – ox
The owl, otter and ox
One day, whilst lazing on rocks
Looked out at sea
And saw Bertie the bee
Sailing on Freddy the fox. |
P – panda, penguin and pig
Panda, penguin and pig
Played rock’n roll at a gig
The panda played drum
The penguin sung
To the crowed all dancing the jig. |
Q – quail
Queasy, queeny quail,
Decided one day to sail,
Royal yacht
But she forgot
About storms, winds and gale. |
R – rabbit and rat
Rabbit and rat went to row
Up the river of the rainbow
In a red and blue boat.
Orange and yellow coats
Hats of green, violet and indigo |
S – Susie the snake
Ssssusie the ssslithering snake
Became sssstuck in a tree misssstake
Ssshe hissed and ssspun
Ssstuck out her tongue
And sssplash! Fell into the lake. |
T – Tim the tiger
Tired old tiger Tim
Could sleep through any old din
Brass bands, noisy boys
Loud girls with their toys
Where never able to wake him. |
U – Usee the unicorn
Usee the unicorn was high
With clouds floa ting by in the sky
Featherd wings so white
What a beautiful sight
Could you dream a white horse could fly? |
V – Vicky the vole
There once was a vole called Vicky
Who loved eating toffee when sticky
Sticky fingers and thumbs
Toffee teeth toffee gums
Mmm so tasty and licky |
W – Willy the whale
There once was a whale called Willy
Who though eating toffee was silly
He loved to eat fish
Served on a dish
With tomato ketchup and chili |
X – Xerox the x-ray
Xerox the x-ray was sad
He should have been happy and glad
For he had no school
No teachers at all!
Now is that really so bad… |
Y – Yin the yak
There once was a yak called Yin
Who drank fizzy drinks from a tin
All day he would slurp,
All night he would burp
Next day start all over again! |
Z – Zed the zebra
There once was a zebra called Zed
Who spent all day laying in bed
Drinking milk and honey
With lots of ice tea
Good book in his hand which he read. |
